You will examine the fundamental principles of non-profit management as well as the roles and responsibilities of a nonprofit board of directors and the management team, examine the essential aspects of fundraising, and become acquainted with the fundamentals of the budgeting process.

Course Overview

The Non-Profit Management Program is particularly well suited for anyone in the non-profit field who has recently assumed management responsibilities, anyone who is working in a non-profit organization, or anyone who wants a perspective on some of the unique issues facing management of a non-profit organization. This certificate program consists of 10 modules geared to provide the essential information in a timely manner designed to fit your busy work and family schedules. You will examine the fundamental principles of non-profit management as well as the roles and responsibilities of a nonprofit board of directors and the management team, examine the essential aspects of fundraising, and become acquainted with the fundamentals of the budgeting process.

Upon registering, you are given an initial six months to complete the program. Should you need more time, you may request a 6-month extension at no additional charge.

Course Objectives

By completing the Non-Profit Management Studies course, students will:

Prerequisites/Audience
Students should have basic keyboarding and computer skills, and be comfortable navigating the internet. They must also have an understanding of a word-processing computer program (Microsoft Word recommended), and have emailing capabilities.

This program is intended for anyone interested in developing their non-profit management skills.
Requirements/Materials Included

This course can be taken from either a Mac or a PC. There are no specific computer requirements other than an Internet connection, Windows Media Player (available as a free download), and Adobe Acrobat Reader (also available as a free download). It is recommended that the student use the latest version of Internet Explorer in place of other web browsers.
