Michael Flowers' 2005 seminar on Ideal Physics Projects for Ghana at the Department of Physics, University of Ghana, addresses the need to focus students' final year projects directly on identifying and helping to alleviate potential engineering-related problems in Ghana and elsewhere. This is to ensure students' projects are problem-solving oriented.

The audience in the Physics Lower Lecture Theatre included Professor Kofi Oduro-Afriyie, Head of Department of Physics, University of Ghana; Professor Robert Baeta; Professor Adanu; Dr. George Toworfe, Dean of Flowers School of Technology and Management; Dr. Elsie Kaufmann, Head of Department of Bio-engineering, University of Ghana; senior members of the Physics Department; Engineering and Physics students of the Faculty of Sciences and Engineering; and the Technical Staff.
